That all depends on the school. You should look at the list of schools (sticky) where you absolutely need recs, and get them if you need them, and know that if there is not a separate upperclass quota, in many schools you will have a difficult road to travel.

Contact the Greek Life Office and ask if there is an upper class quota and whether upperclass women regularly receive bids. You should also be prepared to answer the question as to why you are just now participating in recruitment. Stellar grades, activities, presence on campus and good connections with Greek women are typically the key to a successful Jr. recruitment.


But your experience may vary depending on the campus. Residential universities in the South for example are completely different animals from commuter schools in the Northeast.
