I was wondering how many started at the 22 party and the number that made it to preference round. I am hoping that more girls who made it to preference have a chance for a bid than in previous years. I have heard that each chapter is being told to take at least 50 girls.

Fifty is the minimum quota, some chapters will take more than that. In previous years, many of the chapters took between 52-56, with a few taking 60. I cannot imagine having pref on Sunday and then having to wait until Tuesday for Bid Day.
I will be interested to see the final statistics as well.

That day between preference and bid day is brutal. I can't even imagine how difficult it is for the PNMs.
Although I guess there won't be many of them, when were/are snap bids being offered? I'm assuming bid matching happens right after preference, but are those offered snap bids sworn to secrecy until bid day activities if they're contacted right away?

I will go out on a limb and say that snap bids, if any, were offered this afternoon. Classes were not in session, so I would assume that Panhel was busy making sure all 1000+ bid cards were made out and sorted. I would want to get that out of the way on my day off, not on a day with classes. I honestly don't feel like there are many snap bids. I think that most, if not all, chapters at IU will make quota. All of the chapters have something great to offer women, and with the large number of women, I would think every chapter should make quota easily and could have several quota additions if they wanted them.

The rushees don't find out if they got a bid until bid day - and choose to accept or decline it - so you couldn't really snap until then. Whether they use the flex lists that other chapters have talked about for quota, not sure.

Snap bids go out between bid matching by PH and when the chapters get the bid lists. That's so no one in the chapter besides the people at bid matching know that there were snap bids

Over 1900 women signed up for recruitment, but only 1650ish started at 22 party. I believe around 550 are considered "departed pnm's", however many of these are women that dropped out of recruitment because they didn't get back the houses they wanted, NOT because they were released from recruitment.
Yes, each house must take at least 50.
