Totally agree with this! They're ineffective anyway because once I hear the siren (etc.), I turn down the radio to find out if it was that or in my surroundings.
The commercial I hate right now is luckily only on MTV for some show called Faking It. Not only is the show concept just ugh, but the sound effect makes me think of a chimpanzee on uppers.
