Just stumbled across this old thread and, being a geek about data, it made me wonder what OPA's closure rate is. We struggled back in our early days when we were figuring out what type of campus environment would be a good long term host to an OPA chapter. Later we climbed a painful learning curve about how to recognize and respond to early warning signs of chapter distress. As a result, we have six single-letter chapters in a row that are currently inactive, ten single-letter inactive chapters in all. We're much more cautious about where we place a colony now, and much better at providing chapter support before things spin out of control.

Omega Phi Alpha: 27/37 (10) 27%

We have three colonies presently. Once they all earn their charter and are inducted, our closure percentage will drop to 25%.
