Its actually understandable that she wants the pictures published. Its not just a matter of educating incoming freshmen, its a matter of vindication. She is hurt and enraged at the death of her son and this is away of sharing that pain with a myriad of others. Its a way of taking action and not feeling helpless. I will not sit in judgement on her.

As far as her son goes, it may not be a clear case of alcohol poisoning. I am not sure if it was glossed over, but the blood alcohol level was never mentioned and it would have definitely come up during the post mortem. Also if it were exceptionally high it would have been put in the articles for added shock value. I think a .40 or higher is usually what you are looking for when it comes to alcohol poisoning.

Sounds like the kid passed out, vomited and was unable to catch to breathe because his airway was occluded. And was so drunk his body didn't respond normally. It is definitely something that could happen to more of us.
