Convo round selection
Just "heard" some USC houses don't have membership selection after Convo
round, but only after Open House, video, and Pref. Could this be they already made the Convo "releases" before even meeting the PNMs? Are they making this decision strictly off of recs, registration, photos? BTW these aren't the houses that invite everybody back after Convo round. Thanks for any insight.

Membership selection is for members only, and considered to be ritual in not a few instances. When cuts are made largely depends on the campus and RFM together. Maybe someone with more knowledge of your campus can provide more clarity, but deeper insight is unlikely.

Anything you've "heard" that has ANYTHING to do with membership selection is rumor and way more than likely untrue. Except in 1 and maybe 2 cases in the entire country, I would consider any stories that say a sorority has pre-selected an invitation list to be complete malarkey.

As you might know, recruitment is competitive. Every house cuts people after every round... and early round cuts for grades are the norm. Others can respond about release rates and such but membership selection is private and varies from house to house.

Our Extension Team is terrific - I've been nothing but impressed the past few years in terms of the level of detail and Purpose-fulness in how colonizations occur. Much was learned with the South Carolina extension last fall to inform the plans for these in California, too.

Are they actually called "convos" and "convo rounds"? Also, yes, every chapter makes cuts.

Today is the first of three convo days...I am really shocked that there is just one USC pnm posting on here with ~1100 girls and their parents! Good luck to one and all! If any of you are just visiting and not posting please tell us how it is going for you!

There aren't as many west coast posters on this board. Or at least they don't post as often, though many lurk. It always surprises me though since the greek systems in California aren't exactly small and Washington has a good size system as well.

I did get a call last night. My daughter enjoyed the first evening. She went to 3 houses. Over the next 2 evenings, she will go to the other 7 houses. So glad the first 3 days are in the evening because it is also the first week of school.

Today potential new members at SC will visit up to seven chapters by invitation. Tomorrow, Saturday, they will visit up to four chapters by invitation.
A highlight on Friday is the opportunity to tour the sorority chapter houses.
