I'm sorry to hear that your girls dropped after preference. All of the houses at Texas A&M are strong and the sororities at A&M are wonderful about supporting each other.

However, there are many other freshman leadership opportunities (FLOs) that might be of interest to your girls. It is another way to get involved as a new student to TAMU.

Thumbs up

Aww. Im sorry. Did they give you a reason? My daughter went in last year "knowing" that she was going to end up with a bid to one of the top houses at A&M. Well, after 2 days of full party schedules she was stunned to find out that she was only invited to one preference party. After lots of tears (from both of us) and a long phone conversation she decided the experience of being in a sorority was more important than what level of house she belonged to. Thankfully, she received a bid the next day. It took some time to get over the sting of rejection, but over about a 6 week time period she found herself really liking her house. And now, a year later, she is proud of her house and loves her new sisters.

After being invited to full party schedules through the week she was invited to only one preference party. She attended the party, but just did not feel connected to the girls. :-(
She is sad, but feels she made the right decision.

My OOS rec girl went Delta Gamma. Her Alpha Chi mother, my friend, is excited that she found her home, but I tiny bit sad that it wasn't with her legacy house. At least she was successful!
