In another GC thread, the link to University of Minnesota's 1922 yearbook had me doubled-over in amusement at some of the women students first names (Thirza, Meaunena, and Lazelle come to mind).

I would guess Ell-freed.

That's really interesting that they were not allowed to bid girls who'd been in high school sororities. (That's one of those rules that I wonder if it was really followed.)
