Her humor on one of the houses has been hysterical! "More green and pink Lily with Jack Rogers sandals than I can shake at./QUOTE]

So true!!

When we visited a few years back on scholars weekend, we were able to take a tour of the Greek Village. All the girls giving the tours were wearing these strange uncomfortable looking sandals. I told my daughter, if she was going to rush she needed those strange sandals. I bought her a pair, she begrudgingly wore them for the first few days of recruitment. She said they were very uncomfortable. Fast forward to now, her senior year. She would not be seen without those dumb Jack Rogers.

Classes start tomorrow.
Good luck to all the little Gamecocks!

Hi all
Today is preference day.
My DD had a rough beginning & she was 'bummed'. Her wonderful Pi Chi shared that a bumpy beginning can often be easier to deal w/than the highs & lows that many would experience. She was right. My daughter said many girls either broke down or they were fuming about their schedules at the next round. Others were quiet.
I hope the girls believe what we heard at parent orientation - trust the process.

I have a ? about my 2nd daughter who will be applying to USC this fall. Should we start hitting the pavement for rec letters this spring, if she decides to attend
? My current USC daughter had 2, and I was told she should have had one for every house. "It is common knowledge that SEC schools have highly competitive recruitments." Oh well...

Best wishes to all!

On GC, we recommend that women attending SEC schools try to find at least one rec to each chapter. Some chapters require it based on their membership selection. Others like them so they can get to know the PNM better in a sea of 1000+ women. Starting in the spring would be great. Even if she doesn't go to USC, she could start to gather letters. They don't hurt at just about any campus. As we are not in the membership selection, we cannot say the weight of the letters, but in the collective experience of members of the forum, we believe that they are important and are more than a comfort blanket.

Good luck to your daughter in recruitment and good luck to your other daughter for her senior year. Lastly, you've almost made it! Good luck to you!
