I've never done it. I think it depends on what you're looking for. If you want somebody to kick it with long-term, I probably wouldn't do it. If you just want some short-term ass, then I'd be all for it. Depends on what you want.

I just wouldn't like the table rotation part of it.

I have a friend who did it, met a great girl, and they were together for 3 years. He said the speed dating wasn't so bad. You just have to be realistic. What I mean is, if you're a shy person who doesn't start conversations well, speed dating probably isn't for you. If, on the other hand, conversation comes easy for you and you won't act all awkward or freak out, then go for it.

Keep in mind that the other people who are there are in the same boat you are, and they're probably just as nervous.

I did it several years ago and am thinking of trying it again.

I had a blast. I went out with three guys from it. They weren't long term. We just hung out; did dinner, etc. That was three guys that I wouldn't have dated otherwise.

I did it a month before my birthday, so I got three birthday dinners! Not that I planned it that way, but, it just happened.

At the time, there seemed to be a speed dating circuit. Imagine meeting the guy that you liked and went out with only to see him at the next speed dating event?! Guess that we were both doing the same thing. After a while, I ran into too many of my guy friends and stopped. I am thinking that it might attract the recently divorced, so beware. Once I had a guy who told me that me that he couldn't watch chick flicks because he was recently divorced. The things that you learn in 5 - 8 minutes! But, I digress...

After I did it, I had several girlfriends who wanted to do it with me. I really am against this. As much as moral support is good, it you both like the same guy or he asks you both out, I would think that it could be awkward.

I say go ahead and try it once. If you don't like it, don't do it again.
