Question: Are trans-vaginal ultrasounds being required by any of the states with these laws? Or are they only trans-abdominal? These are two VERY different things.

I've had a (non-pregnancy related) trans-vaginal ultrasound before, and they're no picnic. A trans-abdominal ultrasound is not nearly as invasive.

Regardless, I don't agree with them being required. I'd just be interested to know if the trans-vaginal ultrasound is being forced on women.

We passed that law in Oklahoma, but it was overturned by our Supreme Court because it violated our single-subject rule (bills must embrace a single subject and this bill contained multiple restrictions). This legislation is being crafted by ALEC or some other sort of special interest group and our legislators are too dumb here to break things up into multiple bills instead of just submit what they were given by the special interests lock stock and barrell.

A law which was struck down in Oklahoma required transvaginal ultrasounds.
