My chapter has been around since 1879. We are the oldest existing chapter of DG, and the second oldest sorority on campus (Kappa was founded in 1877). We will be celebrating our 125th anniversary in 2004 (the first year that I'm an alum). We have a lot of history on Akron's campus. Many buildings on campus are named after DG alumnae and a fountain in the center of campus is named for Dorothy Garrett Martin who's husband (a Phi Delt) has given A LOT of money to our university. We have a lot of National DG history too...it's very exciting and something that we have to brag about when it comes to recruitment
