Seriously, whatever the dues, parlor fees, etc are, plan on also having the money for at least one formal a year (and all that entails), big/little sister gifts, "just because" gifts, and such. I pledged years and years ago (think Carl Sagan) and was told to expect to spend at least an extra $200 on the extras - I'm sure it's more like $2,000 now.
