I know what you mean! Only one of my friends from high school and my mom have ever questioned me about an inscription and they didn't get it when I couldn't tell them, because of fraternal secrecy. My friend said, "Why does it matter? I'm not going to care about what it means, and none of your sisters are around." I told her, "That's exactly why I can't tell you...it doesn't mean anything to you and my sisters trust me to not share anything."
My mom was like, "But I'm your mother!" and I shook my head sympathetically and said, "I'm sorry mom, but you're not a Pi Phi."
