I'm hoping to share some of my recruitment story with you ladies, as you have all been such a big help in preparing me for this upcoming week.

How was convocation? My D is in the evening session right now. Checking weather it looks like it's been raining today.....

It has been raining almost all day. My hair was not a fan...Convocation was good. The speaker was absolutely hysterical and we found out our recruitment groups.

I thought you already knew your recruitment groups. Has it changed since water parties?

Rebelpnm, what was the "message" that you ladies got from Convocation? I assume it was not the basic rules of rush. What did the speaker talk about?

Good Luck to all the fabulous pnms! You cannot go wrong in joining any of the chapters at Ole Miss! I'm hoping for just ONE story, and if we're lucky, we'll hear more!

To those of you wondering..
Our Gamma Chi groups are done by which dorm we are in.
Our recruitment groups are different and organized by last name.

Well, I am confused! What is the difference between your Gamma Chi group & your recruitment group? They are doing it differently that I remember, back when we used tin cans to communicate

Just chatted with DD. Said the speaker was great and told her own rush story. Said Greek Life is great but there are some things that could be a little difficult this week. Said keep an open mind.
But the part that my D said really resonated with her is the advice to find the house with the girls you feel will make you become a better version of yourself. (maybe not the exact wording but gist of her statement...)
I thought that was pretty good advice!

She spoke about embracing sisterhood and taking advantage of the opportunities sororities offer us. She also spoke about how we should aim to leave our house better than we found it. Our recruitment group is the group we go to philanthropy parties with and is based on our last name. Our Gamma Chi group is who we get our schedules from, meet with, and who gives us our bid cards.

I have a question, I plan on sharing my story with all of you (as I mentioned before), but should I wait until recruitment is over?

I think YES!!! Wait till it is over. Since we know the school, we want to be sure that you do't "out" yourself accidentally. I know there are 1400 girls going through, but still....

RebelPNM - would love to here how it goes this week but nothing that can identify you in any way. Keep a journal and share if you feel like it afterwards - everyone would love to hear it from a fresh perspective! Even if you don't share, you will probably treasure it some day to see how it all worked out for you.

I do enjoy the recruitment story threads, but posting live can sometimes be embarrassing, and sometimes sad.
It's also frustrating for the reader - you're posting once or twice a day, and then stop right before bid day and leave us hanging for a couple of weeks while you're busy with new member stuff. Perfectly understandable, but agghhh!
Or worse, the PNM posts and posts but gets no invitations back, or only a couple, or ones they don't like, and just quit posting.
Go home, write it up every day as a document in your computer. After recruitment is over and you have a bit of time, read over it all again, clean up the spelling and edit for greater clarity and brevity, and then post.
Or not.
Just don't leave us hanging!!!
