What do you do to prevent that, and we go to as many events as possible but being a small [12 person] chapter, it's hard to attend everything to get our name out, and we all wear letters as often as is comfortable for a school who doesn't always respect members of the Greek community. |
As someone who was also a member of a local sorority, I frequently heard the same kinds of comments. It is unfortunate, but there will always be people who will say negative things about local GLOs. Are you working to grow your membership numbers? It may be better to recruit informally and outside of NPC recruitment, where larger chapter with bigger budgets may overshadow what your group has to offer. In the meantime, I would continue to participate in other groups philanthropy events while inviting them to participate in your own. You could also try a social event with a few other groups on campus, which might be more comfortable/less awkward than only having one another group if they strongly outnumber you.
