An "Awkward" Recruitment Story

The purpose of keeping the legacy house was that Grayson would be guaranteed a bid if she were invited to Pref. On Grayson's campus, bids were not guaranteed ,so this was a way for her to maximize her options.

Day 3


There was a max of 4 invites for today. Grayson's mother and sister were coming to the realization that Grayson was not going to continue the several generation's tradition of being a JENNA HAMILTON. They all discussed possible scenarios and came to the conclusion that Grayson should rank the JENNA HAMILTONs last. Grayson's father, himself GREEK, said "not so fast, didn't it take older sister a few visits to warm up to her chapter of JENNA HAMILTON?" The answer was yes. Grayson was made aware that if she ranked the JENNA HAMILTONs she would be potentially dropping the most sought after chapter for 2 less sought after ones. Her schedule for the day was:

MATTY




JAKE- She met officers here and fell more in love with this chapter. She told them she could see herself fitting in nicely. It was a mutual love fest.




JENNA HAMILTON- This was going to be the final chance in Grayson's mind for them to show her some connection. She spoke with a girl who had a cousin in JENNA HAMILTON. The girl told her that she initially did not see herself as a JENNA HAMILTON, but was thrilled now to be part of such a great chapter. The rest of the party went very well and Grayson was actually starting to warm to the idea of being in her legacy chapter.


MATTY- They were her favorite on Day 1 and she had always enjoyed her time here. However, the tent talk was horrible about MATTY. They also had a different physical structure than the other chapters. Grayson really wanted to live in the house at some point. This was weighing heavily on her decision.


Grayson was torn as what to do. JAKE was obviously her first choice, but who to list for #2? Her father told her never bet against a sure thing. Her mother told her that the JENNA HAMILTONS would most likely drop her, because if they invited her to Pref she would be guaranteed a bid. Her sister told her to rank MATTY last and then if the JENNA HAMILTONs dropped her MATTY would most likely move up into spot #2. Grayson' s main goal going into recruitment was to join a chapter. It did not matter to her which one. So in order to guarantee herself the greatest likelihood of receiving a bid, she maximized her options and ranked them as follows:
