My 14-year-old son can't stand current popular music, which he (without any "education" from me, I promise) describes as derivative, repetative and way-too-heavily auto-tuned. He prefers classic rock.

The auto-tune is what kills me. I am a big fan of singers that can, you know, sing. If a-t is used for mild corrections, fine. But when you can't hold a tune unless it's auto-tuned, that bothers me.
It's just awful. And means that the singer isn't at all special, so exactly why should we listen or even bother to buy?
