Agreed; definitely not spring classes. Everything else seems pretty accurate it that link, but the numbers for spring classes do not appear to be correct.

Most likely, those are chapters late getting their grade release forms in.

Slightly off topic -- WOW at two houses of that size flirting with a ~3.6 active GPA! Those would be excellent GPAs at Ivy League chapters. I know UIUC has gotten very selective, but even so, it's a remarkable achievement at a public school with such huge chapters.

Ahh, that would make sense! I was curious as to how that would have happened.

Recruitment Numbers?
Any buzz on U of I's recruitment this year? Any word on number of registered PNMs thus far?

Nope, but always gets me excited to see this thread bumped
ETA: A bit of a recruitment derailment, but looking back a few pages reminded me about a few more housing shuffles I heard about a few days ago. According to my DChi brother, Phi Sigma Kappa is now back on campus. We are still leasing their house (no idea for how much longer) so they are now living in the Beta house since Beta is no longer on campus. Acacia, who was living in the Beta House and who has been shuffling around all over the place the past several years, is now leasing the Phi Mu house??? I was a bit surprised to hear that at first, because I would have thought sororities would be very hesitant to lease to a fraternity, but then I remembered that Fiji is still leasing Phi Sigma Sigma's house. Very interesting!!!

^^^Whoa! That is a lot of movement around campus. Wasn't Acacia's house relatively brand new? I could have sworn they just renovated "a few" years ago. I know the Beta house was huge, so maybe they outgrew it already??
Also, I was excited to see this thread bumped. I'm still hoping for a UIUC recruitment story this season.

Acacia bought the Phi Mu house. When I was there, they had a house right across from Bromley; I don't know who owned it, but I know it's a big deal to them to have their own house for the first time in years.

wow, musical chairs! You guys must all be a lot younger than me. I can barely remember where some of these frats were, though I do remember Beta was near Frat Park and Acacia burned down at some point. I do remember DChi very well, between Aggers and Pi Lams. My first "Barn Dance" exchange was at DChi. Ah, the 80s...

Ooops, I was mistaken. It was ZBT that renovated their house (almost 10 years ago by now). Beta was still near Frat Park when I was there.
Soooo, anyone going through recruitment at Illinois?

Hmm, which house are you talking about? I'm not sure if I heard of them owning a house. During my 4 years there ('06-'10), Acacia rented the SAE house on the corner of 3rd & Daniel while SAE was off campus. Now that SAE is back, they have their house back (hence why Acacia moved to the Beta house).

You. are. kidding. I CANNOT believe it! Being in a chapter that was looking for a permanent house, I know the question was raised if we could buy the Phi Mu house. I was told that Phi Mu said they were absolutely not selling it. (Of course, things get lost in translation as it gets communicated to the masses, so I wouldn't be too surprised if what I was told was not 100% correct or if circumstances changed. Who knows, maybe Acacia put in a better offer??)
Anywho, I do know the house you are talking about. My cousin was dating a guy in Acacia when I visited her in like spring of '05 and I remember seeing his house. It was white right? By the time I got there, Acacia moved right nextdoor into SAE's house, and AEPi was in the white house while their new house was being built.

D Chi & Aggers are still there! Pi Lams closed sometime while I was there. I definitely remember being in that house during rush week as a freshman, but at some point they closed (low membership I assume) and the house has been torn down.
There's been some other moves since my time there. Delta Phi closed (again, I think low membership) and so the Pikes lived in their house on Chalmers and 4th while their gigantic new mansion was being built. Once Pikes moved into said mansion, TKEs moved into Delta Phi (not sure why) and Theta Chi moved into the TKE house on 4th & Gregory.
Aaaannnd I think that just about covers all the chapter housing moves from '06 to the present. LOL
ETA: Just saw your post UofISigKap. I didn't realize ZBT had a newer house, but now that I think about it, it looks to be in MUCH better shape than some of its neighbors, lol

I'm obviously sad that Phi Mu sold the house, but they weren't able to find renters that they felt would leave the house in decent condition. That's the problem with all of the fraternity musical chairs: nobody wants boys in the house. So they made the decision to sell, and yeah, I'd guess at that point they shopped around for the best offer. It's a bummer to think that I can't go visit, but on the other hand, it's not like I ever go visit. I worry that we'll have a hard time finding something if/when we are invited back, but I'm sure one fraternity or another will get kicked off campus in time. It seems that Illinois loses at least one/year.
ZBT built a brand new house either my senior year or right after I left. I can't remember exactly, but they had pretty much trashed their old one, to the point where it was deemed unlivable by the city. I hope they are taking better care of the new place, because their alumni put up a ton of dough.
Delta Phi had about 8 guys when I was there, so much so that it was a running joke in my chapter to see who could make out with one, but I think I recall them having a sizable house.
So where is SAE? And who is living in the white house? And Theta Chi was in the ZTA house...who is there now? Way over near FAR/PAR/ATO.
