I was flying through Pittsburgh about five years ago with my ballet company. I had forgotten about a water bottle that was in my backpack. When looking at the backpack there is a small frontpocket, a middle pocket and a larger main pocket all in a row. The water bottle was in the middle pocket. The TSA agent pulled the bag off to find it and only looked in the front pocket. After a couple minutes I said that it was a water bottle in the second pocket, but he refused to believe me and said the machine showed whatever object was in the front. He eventually let me through without ever finding the water bottle.
