I am in a fraternity at Davis and decided to go online to see what people were saying about the show. I watch because there are always cameos of people I know on the show and I'm unsure if I would watch it otherwise.
First off, Sigma is not representative of the main panhallenic sororities on campus. I only know a couple of the girls including pledges in Sigma so they are not one of the sororities I have close ties with. I do on the other hand know a lot of what really went on in Davis and with Sigma in real life...not MTV life.
To answer a few questions I saw posted:
Rocks is a Davis tradition. All fraternities and sororities take part in it. I wouldnt really call it hazing when the sororities do it, but when fraternities do it, that is another story.
Showing Jordan's freaking skills at the bar and then talking about her actions later is pretty funny because I was at the bar that night they were filming this segment. My friend was actually the guy dancing with her. What they did not show was the other girls that were there with her, including another pledge and 2 actives. One of which was Becca the pledge educator who herself was getting pretty freaky...believe me.
The pledge house is MTV's idea and was also provided by the network.
I'll come back every now and then to help clarify things.
