WOW!
I go to a commuter school and like Kevlar said i have NO IDEA what our school would be like without greek life...
everything done on campus is done by greeks all the campus events are done by greeks...we are definitly a pro greek school..
our greek advisors are really nice and really do their best to get all the greeks involved...
like most others FIU is moving away from the "commuter school" image...
we are getting our football team this fall (YAY PANTHERS!)
they are building fraternity houses...FIJI has theirs already, and PIKE, SAM, and TKE have all broke ground for theirs to be built soon...
they just added a new housing dorm...really nice! and 2 new buildings including a new architecture building, and a new administration building...
I WISH sororities would get houses...but we have been trying for a while and so far it hasnt passed vote yet...we wouldnt get houses but we would get suites, but so far financially it has not been possible for all the sororities on campus so we all cant get if one doesnt... one of those all of nothing concepts...
but the family like atmosphere and great community makes going to school LOTS of fun...

in MHO FIU is a really well kept secret..alot of people dont know about it..but its a GREAT choice for anyone who wants to live in miami and doesnt want to pay private school prices!!
so to all those people out there who dont know...University of Miami is NOT the only choice for schools in MIAMI
