Greek Life has indicated that the colony efforts are expected to begin after FR concludes this coming Fall. Property has been located which would accommodate three new Chapter facilities.

Wow! After formal recruitment this fall? I suppose presentations are going to happen before the end of the school year with decisions being made rather quickly. I wonder if Ole Miss is planning on bringing more than 1 sorority to campus specifically if they are naming 3 locations where housing could be built? I'm really interested in seeing what develops. Good luck to all NPC groups that choose to submit packets!

The old ADPi house is such a different style from the other gorgeous houses at OM, and I'm pretty sure that it was much like that when the chapter was active. I wonder if that boxy, office building design was a deterrant to PNMs before the chapter closed.

There were a few of these at Illinois: houses that were some awesome "modern" style when they were built in the 50's or 60's, and looked ugly next to more traditional houses a few decades later.

Ew. I violently dislike mid-century modern style. I think it lacks the timelessness or character of other styles.

It is unfortunate if the ADPi chapter suffered from the lack of foresight of those adults who selected their house office-building style architecture in the first place. Hope I'm not being too harsh, but what were they thinking? A good mid-century modern home in the right setting can be fabulous, but not on Sorority Row at Ole Miss. I wish much success to whichever group is chosen to colonize next.

I'm an ADPi and that house is UGLY. Compared to the other houses, I see why it was a HUGE deterrent.
That being said I would LOVE for ADPi to present and try to recolonize our chapter there.

I can remember the very first time I saw a picture of the ADPi house at Ole Miss like it was yesterday. A few of us were looking at the picture and one of the sisters said, "Was Maxine (deceased Grand President for over 40 years) on drugs when she approved that?" We later found out that she has suffered from Alzheimer's in her later years. Coincidence? I think not.
Personally, I think a) that house simply didn't belong on Ole Miss Campus, especially for Alpha Delta Pi and b) I would go crazy mad with excitement if we were invited back - especially with a chance to build a more appropriate house.
I love columns, but especially when they don't "take over" the house, as in the Georgia Southern ADPi house.

The Ole Miss ADPi Chapter closed while I was in Grad School there. I have heard that this house was definitely not an advantage during formal recruitment. It definitely departed from the campus trend and it seems not favorably.
