Generally speaking, if you expect your pledges to be initiated members during the school year that is to be repressed in the composite, then yes.

For example, a friend of mine joined her sorority at Vanderbilt. Vandy has deferred formal NPC recruitment – i.e. in the spring. She said that the individual composite pictures were taken in the spring and included actives and (then current) pledges. However, it was possible that not all of the pledges would initiate, so her chapter had an agreement with their composite maker to finalize the composite after initiation.

So if your concern is that some of the pledges may not be initiated, discuss with the composite maker your chapter’s options regarding when the chapter needs to confirm who is to be included in the composite.
