Article in student paper says all NPC chapters made quota, which was 45. The exact number for each chapter doesn't seem to be mentioned.

http://www.jhunewsletter.com/news-fe...bers-1.2784697

Excerpts from ^^:

“ . . . After recruitment ended last Thursday, the average size of each sorority was 146 members, with the largest sorority having 170 members and the smallest sorority having 121 members.

. . . Only seven women were not matched with a sorority. . . “
Regarding the individual chapters, I know Kappa bid 47 and Phi Mu bid 48. I heard (but don't know for sure) that Alpha Phi bid 47 and Pi Phi bid 36. I believe Pi Phi is currently COBing some more since they are the newest and the smallest - this year was only their second formal recruitment.

ETA - according to the article total is now set at 146.

Thanks for posting, exlurker!

The campus paper's article said that 189 women received bids. So if the numbers you know or heard about for Kappa, Phi Mu and Alpha Phi are correct, then Pi Phi would have issued 47 bids for the addition to come out right. ( 47 + 48 + 47 + 47 )

I think.

Maybe everything will be clarified in the future.

Then again . . .

Ha! Good point. Since my last post I found out via facebook that Alpha Phi got 48. That's also where I got 48 for Phi Mu. I don't think Kappa, Alpha Phi or Phi Mu had any girls decline on the spot (I know Kappa didn't). So, that would mean Pi Phi issued 46 bids, if the News-Letter's numbers are to be believed, but I'm pretty sure they got fewer than 40 New Members.

So, either girls declined bids, or I'm wrong, or the News-Letter is wrong. Any one of those things is totally plausible. I think their last day of COB is today, so the final number will be higher anyway.

Also, for the record, Kappa COBed up to total over the weekend and now has a new member class of 49.

ETA: I hope the university makes good on their word to look into expansion again, because these pledge class sizes are getting waaay too big. IMHO 20-30 is a better number. Pi Phi seems to be doing pretty well so I think the university could definitely take on another chapter, even though it's only been 2 years (I mean, they're already at least matching quota, which my chapter didn't consistently do until ten years after colonizing). I believe they have an agreement to give Theta the first crack at it, which would probably be ok now that the last of the initiated members from the closed chapter graduated last year. The last of their final new member class, which was never initiated, will graduate in May.
