Even if she were an honorary member, I would find it ridiculous to hold her up to them as an accomplished well-known sorority woman when she had been initiated well into late adulthood and only because of who she had become.

There are many individuals who become honorary members later on in life (because of their lifetime accomplishments). They are still, for the most part, highly regarded.
