Why do you assume that if people think this thread may shed more heat than light or that if people challenge what you're saying (for example, about sororities), they are "scared of people starting new chapters"? They may be concerned about people trying to start new chapters getting bad or irrelevant advice.

Meanwhile, I can't say I've seen any really rude responses in this thread.

I do have experience working with NALFO, NIC, NPC, and NPHC groups. I am not an expert in all areas, but I did put it out there that what I don't know, I can find out.
No, it's really not a double standard. In the case of the other thread, the comments related to dealing with the Greek Life office (if there is one) or the school administration -- something all GLOs deal with regardless of council, umbrella group or type.

In this thread, the "stay in your lanes" came when you talked about the NPC not taking new members and "valid alternatives" to the NPC.

See, here you are incorrect. NIC's don't require there to be an IFC on campus in order to expand, if two NPC groups exist on a campus, they do. So that gives the men's groups more leeway in expansion. So, maybe you should "stay in your lane." As I have been advised so often.

I'm not upset you disagree with me AT ALL. Feel free to continue doing so.

I'm missing where MysticCat said anything about IFC. He said Greek life office. Even if there is no GL Office, it would fall under Student Activities or another similar department. Stop trying to nitpik to prove you're The Expert.

I'm well aware of this, and I didn't say otherwise. I didn't mention the NIC IFCs. I said that all Greek groups have to deal with school administrations. That's true to some extent even for unrecognized chapters. (Though it's my understanding that what you say is not true of all NIC member orgs.)

But the bottom line is that anyone interested in starting a chapter of any org should find our first what their school's position would be.

Not quite. We're not NIC, but on some campuses, we are IFC. But as noted, I didn't say anything about either.
