Since we took a look at the Auburn Recruitment Guide, here's the Alabama one. I haven't checked it for imperfections.

There are the usual fictional famous alums -- but my favorite error is that the Christian sorority describes itself as "inter-demonitational"! Whatever that means, it doesn't sound very Christian.

^^^Willing to accept demons who have varying theological viewpoints? Guess no one could accuse them of being close-minded.

Hell...recruitment councilors everywhere have to do embarrassing skits. People need to give them a break.

Those photos are jaw-dropping - the sisters and PNMs look so put-together, and so attractive, and their dresses are so cute.
I'm really glad I went to school when (the 80s) and where (PSU) I did - we had sisters with curly hair and straight hair, very tall and very short. When I see pictures from that time, the sorority girls look much less uniform.
This group would intimidate the hell out of me. Plus everyone has bone-straight hair - mostly blonde - and looks to be about the same height and weight. The Rho Chis (who are dressed for comfort) look far more like what I remember college girls looking like!
Good luck to all.
(The less said about the video, the better.)

I love how the one woman dressed like a prostitute in her picture has the audacity to call these girls out. Way to go. Keep livin' the dream as you take picures of yourself to post on a website so you can feel good.

Don't be intimidated! 99.9% of the girls look like the Rho Chis any other time. Remember, the ones in front are very, very carefully chosen to give the most glamorous first impression possible. There's an art to "stacking the door" as they call it - for impressions AND for pnysically getting those faces in the door.
I thought the video was deliberately cheesy and cute!

I thought the video was fun. Seems like they all were having fun, at least. People place too much emphasis on looking "cool" when it's way more fun to be a big old dork who does dorky things.

And there is no "founded at UA" date for Phi Mu.

Well, we were perming over color over perm, so it's just the opposite end of the spectrum. We had sisters with bone straight hair who cried because it wouldn't curl.
They will wise up in a couple years like we did and stop abusing their hair.

Ok, worried mom here. My daughter is rushing this year. This morning she found out she was only invited to four philanthropy day visits. Might she be invited to zero on the next round and just dropped from the process? I'm scared that she will be standing in a crowd and find out she was the only one in her group that got a zero in the next round. How is this handled?

It's great that she got 4 back. Some girls aren't as lucky. It only takes ONE, so count your blessings so far.
If she is released from recruitment she will likely get a phone call from her Recruitment Counselor before the next round begins so she won't be that girl standing in a crowd without any invites.
Relax and breathe. She's still got 4 houses to visit.

I know nothing about Bama, but at every school I've ever heard of, she gets a private call from her Rho Chi prior to arriving at the invitation pick-up spot if she has indeed been dropped. That said, take a deep breath, four is still plenty of invites at this point.

Uniformed, if you read through some live threads here, you will see some girls taking big cuts early and doing just fine and others getting back a full or nearly full schedule and then getting cut out completely. So in short, her having a shortened schedule doesn't say anything about her result. Try to help her relax and enjoy the chapters she still has, and we'll all hope the best for you and your daughter.
