On the upside, my friend who woke up from the coma is doing extremely well.
She's had her good and bad days, but we're very hopeful. Things are going well down there and I'm still so very grateful for her life.
But there's other bad news in the family. My cousin was shot last week. His friend shot him in the leg with a shotgun, I don't know why. But it hit an artery in a leg that had already been previously injured so he lost it. He was put in a medically-induced coma before the amputation. It was touch and go for awhile but they brought him out of it and he is stable. I'm so happy about that but you can imagine the shock of going to sleep and waking up to find that, not only have several days passed but your leg is gone. It's just a really tough time for this family and it all feels so out-of-control. I'm not even sure what I'm requesting prayer for....just all of the above, I guess. Right now, I'm just meditating on my siggy and asking God to get us through all of this without any further harm.
