I just took a gender issues class, and from what i remember, here is my advice/knowledge:

you have to take the pill within a couple of hours of the same exact time every day. if you miss a day, take 2 the following day. our prof told us this, and told us that the hormone surge when that happens would set things right. of course you don't want to do that very ofton. if you're using the rhythm method, ovulation takes place about 5-7 days before ovulation. ovulation is in the "safe" time to have sex. if used correctly rhythm is like 60% effective. for God's sake man, multiplex! even though she's on the pill, use a condom, diaphragm, spermicide, rhythm, something in addition to it.

also, if the girl is going to be on the pill, then yeah, it's her responsibility. if 2 people are in love or whatever, it BC should be the responsibility of both, but in the long run, it's not the guy that's investing anything in a pregnancy. the girl has to give much more! if she doesn't want to get pregnant, and doesn't want to have to worry about a deadbeat dad or anything, she should take initiative. the guy should be supportive though, split costs, multiplex like i said, or get no nookie i suppose....which is always a surefire way not to get pregnant if you're THAT worried about it
