While it's a bit embarrassing (and a pain in the patoot), it's also the one time you can purposefully tell someone that they're rude without saying it.
Give yourself a break, if you can, and buy the crudites & fruit platters. You don't want to play Soup Nazi and say, "No eggs or muffins for
you!" The non-responders are the ones being rude - don't stoop to their level.
