On applications that have little room, I just put NLU since it's on my diploma. On my CV, since there is as much room as I want, I put NLU (now Univ of La at Monroe.)
BTW...it's a huge trend to get rid of the directional names of schools, ie. Southwest Texas, Northeast Louisiana. Northwestern State University and Southeastern Louisiana University in Louisiana both resisted the change, and we (NLU alums) are just a little jealous since we fought it and lost.
