best way to express your interest in a frat.

I am very interested in joining a frat at my school. I know some of the Greeks on campus, but i dont know what to say or how to say it. could anybody help?

Before someone else gets crazy about it, I'll give you one heads up: Some fraternity members have no problem with the word frat, but others may find it very offensive. Depending on the opinions on the subject at your campus, I'd advise avoiding the word. Call it a fraternity.

Bonus if you can skip the boombox and get the whole freakin' Marching Band to perform a choreographed number as your backup as YOU sing Showtunes. Pledge class President for sure.

If he says it is NPHC, everyone should exit stage left. NPHC aspirants shouldn't come here for advice.

thank you mysticcat for the info. and it is a NPHC, but im not askin for step by step directions, i want it to receive the full experience on my own. but i just wanted to know if i should be straight up and tell them i want to be down or what?

We get asked that question a lot here, "How do I approach...."

The underlying fact is that while it may depend on the campus, no matter what, it's best to befriend the members.

I can't tell you how to make friends with strangers, but many have done it before. You SHOULD know these guys. If you don't know them, there's not a good chance they will pick you.

It's always a good idea for NPHC aspirants to avoid shortcuts. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated is music to my ears.
