One more thing...Emma said that the PNM's will only be allowed to attend 6 parties for Skit Day. Can anyone confirm? Also, at Auburn, which round is quota based on?

AuburnDad - I'm not sure about the 6 houses, but what I can tell you about how quota is set--- there will be an initial establishment of quota range and it can change based upon how many women drop before preference with the goal being to match as many women as possible. It the old days, it was determined by how many PNMs ( then known as rushees) were remaining in recruitment just before preference. With the new RFM ( Recruitment Figure methodology) the goal is to match as many women as possible and therefore may change slightly. So, on thurs / Friday we may hear if there is a range. Final quota is determined by the RFM specialist who is an NPC representative.
I will tell you it works well for all chapters. It's been a great addition to the recruitment process.

That RFM is pretty amazing stuff. Hopefully that specialist did better in Calculus than I did.

I actually love the statistics part of recruitment, I know it may sound a bit sick but I do my own math each year (and I use the previous two years stats) with the two chapters I work with and so far I've been either right on or within one of the correct quota # for the past three years. if you love math its fun-- like I said, I love statistics ( I'm odd, I know)

Thank you to those sharing their PNMs recruitment stories with us. Aurburn seems like a completely different world from my schools in the northeast, and it's fun to live vicariously for the week. Thank you for taking the time to share!!
Good luck to all the girls!

All I know is that I couldn't understand a word he was saying. I just scribbled down what he was writing on the board and hoped it would make some sense later.

Last year the girls were able to attend a maximum of seven parties for skit round. I think it's the same for this year. Also, last year the heaviest cuts seem to happen after philanthropy round. It sounds like your daughter is having a great, open-minded recruitment, though.

Yeah, just looked it up on the Panhellenic website. Looks like it's seven again this year.

I have a friend who is a very involved alumni at AU and whose daughter went through rush last year. She confirms that hard cuts come after this round. She said that there will be much crying on the morning of the cuts.

So glad to hear that Emma, Cassie and Suzie are having a good time. And don't worry about rambling, we all love these recruitment stories.
Just a quick aside to Cassie's Mom, my daughter had a similar roommate experience her freshman year-2008. She thought she would just stick it out but problems continued to escalate from day one until about two months into the year, she returned to her room in the middle of the day and found her roommate and bf in her bed, if you can believe it. Needless to say we moved into another room right away. I would say to move sooner rather than later. We found the staff at Auburn hosing to be very caring and helpful.
Happy recruitment to all and War Eagle!
