I was 16, he was 21. Totally my fault. We had the same friends, were into the same scene, and just had never been introduced.

We were dating for 7 years before we became engaged. See also the fact that I was quite young when we met and I had school to do.
How long was the engagement?
Little over a year and some change. I was in graduate school in Scotland during our whole engagement, so we planned the whole thing the summer following my graduation from undergrad.
