Drolefille, GREAT idea!

But an FYI: Mr. William Baird and the then-current officers of Alpha Delta Pi had a several year long correspondance over mistakes made in the early editions. It may be a good idea to try to use the 1991 (lastest) edition. I also found this on Wikipedia:

"This is from an e-mail GreekPages got from Thomas Jackson. Enjoy!

I've gotten mail asking where one can purchase a copy of Bairds. Some of us have quoted it on this board to answer questions, and I thought there may be others out on the net who would like to buy a copy. I'm not selling it, merely passing the info on.Bairds Manual of American College Fraternities is considered the ultimate reference guide to ALL national fraternities, sororities and societies. About 20 editions have been published over the last 150 years. In its 1200 pages it lists all colleges and the chapters which have existed at each one (!), provides detailed histories of ALL the groups and a list of their chapters, quotes significant legislation pertaining to Greek letter organizations, describes fraternities which have disbanded, major locals, important alumni, etc. It lists NIC, NPC, NPHC groups, and all honor societies and professional societies. If you're into fraternities and sororities, this is really, really cool to read. This book was last published in 1991, so the information is still very current. There are about 2000 copies left. Buy one for your school library or ask that they buy one! Here's where to get them:

Bairds Manual Foundation
Attn: Cathy Earley
3901 West 86th Street
Suite #390
Indianapolis, IN 46268
The price is 59.95, which includes shipping and handling. Make checks payable to: Bairds Manual Foundation. Call (317)872-1112 for more info. Let them know you heard about this on the Internet! The sooner these sell through, the sooner the foundation will be able to fund a new revision. Thanks for your time..."

Wonder how many more they have to sell? I ask because I've often thought of trying to write a new edition myself.
