They do, but they're dummies. There are a lot of ways a chapter can work with you if you're really having a hard time scraping up the money for dues.

They don't work with you if you're at every party with a handle of liquor/case of beer that you bought yourself.

Generally no, although I knew people who did. I also know people who managed to make it work. I think a lot depends on how strict your chapter is. The people who did truly had no other choice, I knew them well enough to know they weren't screwing around and just being lazy/whiny.

Another favorite: the girl who couldn't pay her dues, yet had a new lettered hoodie for every day of the month, every little knicknack that Greek Gear sold, etc.

That's not someone who is trying to make it work.

Take care of your basic fees first, before buying extras. lol.

but back on topic: Generally speaking, you don't have to depledge if you have money problems. We will try to make it work for you if you're willing to try.
