I have come into contact with some people who depledged/terminated in the past, but somehow decided that they could still "claim" us. Then they attempted to become affiliated with an alumnae chapter (because in their minds, they're still members lol), only for the VP to look them up and be like "WTF?" Sorry.
I've also seen these same women tell their kids they are "legacies." Nope.
Funniest of all, attempting to register for events, and wondering why they can't. So they call tech support at HQ and HQ is like "you can't register for this event because you're not a Sigma." lol.

Although they depledged or did something to get terminated, it is still sad to have once been duly initiated and then *poof* it's gone. It is also sad because people do dumb stuff, particularly when they are college-age, and wish they could undo it when they get older. What they did has lasting effects--lesson learned.

True.
I do think it's sad because sometimes there are women who see the error of their ways years after the fact, but since that is permanent, there isn't anything they can do about it.

I do wish there was an exception of some sort for people who truly have financial problems in school.

Isn't that one of the purposes of early alumni status?
Fish fry fundraiser.
Alumnae chapter sponsors.
Is depledge the only option for NPC, in general?

Early alum status isn't typically available unless you're going to be a fifth year senior. Sometimes you can take time off if you're going to be out of the country and you might pay only the national fees for that period of time. I'm sure someone else has some perspective on it but I don't recall any other exceptions made at least when I was there.

Each NPC sorority has different policies on the matter. Alpha Gamma Delta does not have an "early alumna" status but there are inactive statuses, I believe one is for financial reasons (and can only be used one semester or something like that).
My chapter wasn't really a stickler and let women with busy schedules slide on a lot of stuff they shouldn't have, and we even granted "early alumna" status (even though there isn't one and I believe we still counted them as active members when it came to IHQ.
More experienced squirrels can correct me on this if I'm wrong, but I don't think I am, per the LC visits we got all the time.

Yeah, they hung the pledge over a bridge when they were 20 but would NEVER do that as a 33 year old.
