Any idea why they all closed? I'm from the Epsilon Xi chap @ UMSL and noticed that there were once 5 chapters in Missouri. Now there are only two...

They didn't "all" disappear at once. Look at any fraternity or sorority and they will have inactive chapters.

There are any number of reasons why an individual chapter may close - low numbers, risk management issues, or things that are out of members' control, like campus culture, a lack of administration's support, not enough interest in Greek Life on campus, lack or loss of housing, the economy, etc. Some chapters closed during times when Greek life wasn't so popular, and they didn't return. There are so many variables that can lead to a chapter's closing. It happens.
