Umm, exactly what I was thinking!
I think we do have a right to know every time something happens; however, letting the public know each time something happens, whether major or minor, could cause numerous panic attacks and other health related problems amongst the people of the US. I can see why the government would want to not make minor things public, as to not have the public worrying. But when there is a vehicle carrying sodium cyanide hijacked, the American people could be "looking out" for this truck. I guess the government wants to find the truck on their own.
