Not only did they earn the right to wear those letters, but they also earned the right to lose the letters.

I see this being the biggest argument with this matter; earned both ways.
Would I remain friends with them, yes....especially if they are my sands/prophytes/neos/etc.
Affiliation with them will cause BAD backlash in a couple key areas, but that is where you will have to make your own call based on the situation(s).

Okay, let me make sure I understand. Are u saying they got expelled from the organization or just the chapter got snatched from the school?
If they have been expelled from the org, then yes, techinically they are no longer recognized as a member of my org and therefore should not wear pari.. that doesnt mean I wouldnt continue to be their freind though.

Anyway my question is if your soror/frat gets in trouble for hazing would you stand by thier side and have thier back no matter the outcome? I am not talking about hazing were they put someone in the hospital or anything like that. Just swinging alittle wood.
I am asking because a nearby chapter had members expelled for hazing. The members still wear letters and everything. I am cool with them, They are some great sorors and great people. They just are young and got caught up with the whole paper vs. made thing. (pledging)
Would you still be cool with expelled members repping your org ? Think about if it was someone in your chapter, or even your LS/LB? If they have not done anything too crazy or took funds from your chapter, I say once a member always a member.

People don't get EXPELLED for just anything. Duh.
I don't have respect for anyone who does anything that is worthy of EXPULSION.
And if I don't respect you, we can't be friends. Period. If I see you with letters, they might be mine when I leave your presence.

Amen!!
We actually did this during Rush this semester. One of our expelled members was walking around campus wearing letters, so we confronted him and took them.

Are you kidding?
If someone is EXPELLED from my organization, it is because she had blatant disregard for my sorority and what it stands for. I think I could only be friends with such a person if she truly showed remorse for what she did. She should NOT wear letters or represent the sorority in any way.

To the OP, it seems like you're trying to justify that they still have a right to wear letters. I'm pretty sure you got love for them and all, but at the end of the day, they can't wear letters once they're expelled. Plain and simple.
