If they had the parent's permission, why was it annulled? They could have easily gotten married AGAIN when she turned 18. But noooooo, all ties with Kelly were "cut". What's up with that, if everything was so peachy keen between the two (Kelly and the Haughtons)?

They were able to have the marriage annulled because Aaliyah allegedly misrepresented her true age when getting the marriage license and she didn't have her parent's permission. So under the law, the marriage was false, and thus never existed.
