We did a similar event called My Tie. You get a date for your sister, and get his tie, then give that tie to the sister. Ideally, neither party knows who their date is until they get to the party, and he sees who is wearing his tie (and says, "Hey, that's My Tie!"). We always just found someone to find our date, that way there would be a good chance you'd go with someone you liked. Most of the time you knew who your date was anyway, because my srat was TERRIBLE at secrets. But it was a lot of fun, and not as stressful as having to find your own date to the formal.
