My sibling is a meteorologist assistant and they have to work regardless of the weather. Not doing so would defeat the purpose. They have meteorology carpools and vans to pick them up during inclement weather.

That sucks to me because I don't like bad or inclement weather and that goes for rain, sleet, or snow. I prefer to be off the roads and in the safety and comfort of my home (or office, if need be).

I loved some of the snow days in the past two years. I enjoyed going out for walks and having a gigantic unhealthy breakfast so I'd have enough energy to shovel and go snow shoeing or skiing. Building snow forts with my friends and just having some free time was really pleasant. Now I have cats to make sure are fed and cared for so I can't be so care free but I treasure living in a town where I can walk everywhere and know my neighbors so snow days are a blessing.

A lot of private companies around here don't close unless there's really bad weather. You can use paid time off or something along those lines, but you don't get a free pass because of the weather.

Also, the courts around here are hesitant to shut down. So even if there's bad weather we may have to drive across the state for arguments or trial.
