Forrest Gump was predictable, saccharine and manipulative. ("Now, we're going to make you feel ____.") And no way was it best movie of that year.

And as for me not being normal for not liking soup, your comments on the Harry Potter books (sorry -- JK Rowling has the best knack for naming characters since Dickins) establish that you have forfeited any right to criticise what others consider "dumb." So there.
