Question on rushing / getting bids.

Alright, I'm a transfer student (2 credits shy of being a sophomore). I went one year at a community college till I picked my major, and then transferred into a 4 year university. Now transfer students regardless of freshmen status move in when regular upperclassmen move in. So I am pretty sure I missed the official rush week. Now I am stuck on what to do. I've met some brothers of different fraternities, but only when they (and I) were a tad drunk. And now most of the big fraternities are having closed parties or only let girls in.

Back on topic. Now after that I feel intimidated to try and walk up to the fraternities during parties, for whenever they are girls only I feel like a like the dudes in "Girl next door" before they hooked up with the porn stars. But it seems I have only met brothers of any house when they were drunk. I dont know how to get into contact with them during the day, and in general, I have no idea how the Greek system works. Also, I have NO connections from back where I live. But im trying to network well known people around campus. I'm going to stop rambling and hope someone understands what I am asking.

As some people seem to think I am suggesting, I do not want to be fake friends with brothers. I get along with basically everyone. Shit my roommate comes in high at 4 am every day and I still dont even mind him. I like to believe I am a chill person, just a little "quite" at first before I get to actually know someone. I'm gonna check out the Greek Office or shoot them an e-mail, and most likely end up pledging somewhere in the spring.
Any more tips / suggestions would be very much appreciated though. Thanks!
