If you have thin hair that doesn't hold well in updos unless you go to a professional (and I feel your pain!) go get your hair curlers (if you have any) and go warm them up ASAP and leave them in your hair for about 30 minutes. Take out the hair curlers and put your hair in a low-ponytail. Take the hair that's in the ponytail and twist it. Bring that section up to the top of your head and pin it. Tuck loose ends into other sections of your hair. You just made your very own French Twist! Or, if you have a friend available, ask them to do a french braid and tuck the remaining strands under the braid.
