Thankyou for your responses ladies. I really appreciate it.
Pearl Pal gifts are a little smaller, since you only have them for the week. You usually only get them one small thing. I think I got my Pearl Pals a picture frame or some Sigma stationery.

Your Little Sis gets alot more and it's usually alot more personal, since that's your actual permanent Little Sister and you're to be her mentor and guide the entire time she is in the chapter.

I got alot of different things for my Little, we have a thread about Little Sis gifts that gives you an idea of what is spent (every chapter is different: http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ighlight=gifts

It really depends on the school, the chapter, and how much you are willing to spend.

It costs around $2750 a semester [not exact] to live in the house, plus I spend about an extra $400 [give or take] a semester on new outfits for events, giving to our charities, secret santa, tee shirts for events and date parties, that sort of thing. Some spend more, some spend way less.

perfectinpurple: These sorority themed items would have to be ordered in, yes?I ask because I have not seen a greek store on my campus. And thankyou for clarifying the 100 bucks figure. Its just good to know all the possible budgeting items before I actually go through recruitment and also to get them okayed by the rents. Thankyou for your reply.

MaggieXi: Thats an awesome point about the greek culture on campus. I would definitely have to learn the campus culture and see how involved the greeks are with respect to campus events. Thankyou for your reponse.

Tropical_Dancer: I would definitely have to observe how things happen on my campus but I don't think I would be able to afford JC stuff for a little. I hope that isn't too big a hinderance. Thankyou for your feedback.

Titchou: You are right. That sounds like a nice deal and fair as well. I wonder if my campus has something similar. Thankyou for your input

KSUViolet06: OO I like that thread. Its cute and its nice to see what kind of things people give to their bigs/littles. Hopefully, I can one day be able to join in on something like that. Thankyou for taking time to dig up the link!

loveandAOE: Actually, I am not going to be living in the house if I do get a big. I will have to commute to campus so maybe the dues won't be as high as the ones you mentioned. Our Panhellenic's listed range is actually lower than the figures you quoted but maybe its either a bad estimate or greek life is cheaper here. I hope that its the 2nd of the two, hehe. I think that 400 a semester should be doable. I hope to secure a work-study position next year so I am hoping that I can cover anything outside my dues. Thankyou for your response.

Take care everyone!

Usually one (or all) of the campus bookstores will carry a few small greek items. If not, there are plenty of reputable online places you can order from. Also, some of the best gifts can be home made. My heart buddy gave me a handpainted clipboard that I absolutely love!!

Ya, That's living in expenses, live out expenses are quite cheaper. Like I said, each school is different so I can only speak for my own. ;] Take care and have fun.
