The numbers are garbage anyway. There are many districts where the teachers were pressured to push students through the system.

I doubt it. In the upper-middle class school districts the students are actually raised by their parents and the parents care about education. It is the low income districts that are trying to keep pace by doctoring the standardized test scores and pushing the kids through the system.
At the end of the day the kids from the upper class districts that are getting the jobs. That says it all.
Why do you think Obama gave the speech saying blacks need to do a better job on education?
