These kids are not the real deal. I was reading on another forum by several New Yorkers that they attend a school called Dwight, which although a prep school is a Tier 3 prep-school at best. They argued that the only truly elite one was actually the public school girl, because her school is actually elite (based on test scores though, not money) and that Dwight is essentially for kids who were rich enough for prep school but not smart enough for the real deal.

This is just like the "Real Housewives of __________"...it's not the real thing. They are on the outside of the true upper class/elite and looking in, and think this show will push them into the real thing. But it won't because anybody who is truly elite in New York would never associate themselves with a show like this.

YES.

HBO once did a documentary on children whose parents are wealthy. I think there were kids involved who were Rockefellers, Johnson and Johnson heirs, etc. After it aired, several of the kids involved were cut entirely from wills and were denied their trust funds because their families found the exposure appalling. Why? Because the truly wealthy and elite don't typically feel that that that type of attention is necessary. These kids wanted attention and it cost them their trust funds. I wonder if the same will happen with these kids.
